As far as I can tell, Copan Ruinas is “the” Mayan site to visit in Honduras. More generally, one could say it’s also “the” tourist destination in Honduras. Summing up our time in Honduras is fairly easy… we spent three and a half months in Utila, Honduras (and the neighbouring Jewel Cay). The only other cities we visited (La Ceiba and San Pedro Sula) were required stays to get in and out of Utila. That’s it. Three months after arriving in Utila, it’s time to say goodbye. It’s bittersweet in a way, this is the only time so far in our trip where we’ve had to move on.
